Blue Devils Battle But Edged On Late Army Goal
Black Knights Slip Past CCSU, 2-1
Trailing 1-0 with under four minutes to play in the match, the host Central Connecticut State Blue Devils women's soccer team got a goal from Rachel Wygant, who had just entered the contest, off a scramble in front of the goal from a free kick from Emma Radoncic to tie the game, but the visiting Black Knights of Army West Point would net the game-winning goal with just 39 seconds to play on a header by Jordan Follenwelder to prevail, 2-1, in a non-conference action on Thursday night. Army West Point is now 4-1-0 overall on the season; while the Blue Devils are now 0-3-1.

- After being outshot 10-3 in the first half, the Blue Devils ramped up the offensive pressure to knot the contest at 1-1, when Wygant netted the first goal off her CCSU career, as she found the final touch off a free kick sent into the mixer by Radonic following an Army foul that had resulted in a yellow card.
- Unfortunately for Central fans, the Black Knights would win the game on a lovely goal with just 39 second to play when Megan Youngberg sent a long cross from the deep right corner that was headed home by Jordan Follenwelder at the back post.
