Blue Devils Open NEC Women's Soccer Play With A 3-3 Tie Versus Wagner
Three Different CCSU Players Find The Back On The Net On Thursday
The CCSU women's soccer team opened its 2025 Northeast Conference schedule at home on Thursday night with a spirited 3-3 tie with the visiting Wagner College Seahawks. On the night, Central received first half goals from Rachel Wygant and Hannah Dorney, plus a second half marker from Luci Schroeder off a free kick. With the draw, the Blue Devils are now 0-4-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play; while Wagner is now 1-1-5 overall and also 0-0-1 in the NEC.

- The visitors opened the scoring on Thursday night just 7:35 into play when Alana Arjona finished off a nice passing play from Kelly Gallagher and Hailey Knapp to make the score 1-0 in favor of Wagner.
- CCSU would tie the game at 1-1 in the 38th minute when Rachel Wygant scored off a beautiful through ball from Kayla Ward.
- The Seahawks would retake the lead at 2-1 in the 43rd minute, but Central quickly tied the match once again at 2-2 with just over 1:40 to play in the first half when Hannah Dorney floated a shot into the top corner of the Wagner net off a back pass from Kayla Ward.
