Floyd Earns PDL Team of the Week Honors

Central Connecticut State University senior Eddie Floyd earned Team of the Week honors for the USL's Premier Development League after a two goal performance playing for the Hampton Roads Piranhas. Floyd, named captain for the upcoming Blue Devils' season, capitalized on both the opening score and the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over the Virginia Legacy.

Floyd got the Piranhas on the board first when he blasted one into the back of the net only 16 minutes into the game. Hampton Roads gave one back before halftime and went into the break tied at one. Floyd's heroics returned in the 57th minute when he received a pass and finished it off into the right corner of the net. The Piranhas held on to win by the score of 2-1.

The Hampton Roads team finished the season in fourth place in its division with a record of 8-5-3. Floyd will be returning to camp with the rest of his CCSU teammates in August to begin preparing for the Blue Devils' opening tournament at New Hampshire on September 4-5.
