Blue Devils Run at NCAA Northeast Regionals

Junior Ry Sanderson placed 40th out of 239 runners and the Central Connecticut men's cross country finished 29th out of 33 teams at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday. Sanderson timed in at 33:09 on the 10 kilometer course in Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY.

Junior Ry Sanderson ran to a third place finish and received all-conference honors for his performance at Saturday's Northeast Conference Men's Cross Country Championships. His time of 26 minutes and 46 seconds over the five mile course helped Central Connecticut to a seventh place finish out of the 12 teams in competition at Monmouth University.

Junior Ry Sanderson ran to a new personal record in a five kilometer race and the Central Connecticut men's cross country team finished fifth out of 14 teams at the Sixth Annual CCSU Mini Meet at Stanley Quarter Park on Saturday morning. The junior captain finished in fifth place, with a time of 15 minutes and three seconds, which marks his best 5K time in cross country or track.

The Central Connecticut men's cross country team finished 32nd out of 47 teams at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, MA, on Saturday afternoon. Junior Ry Sanderson was the top finisher for the Blue Devils, recording a time of 25 minutes and 56 seconds to place 74th on the five mile course.

Freshman Kevin Tiernan First to Finish for CCSU in Dartmouth Invitational

Kevin Tiernan was the first finisher for the CCSU men's cross country team at the Dartmouth Invitational. The freshman finished in 53rd place overall with a time of 28:03 on the eight kilometer course. The Blue Devils finished in 7th place overall and will next be hosting the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday September 20.

Junior Ry Sanderson placed first for the second straight season in Friday's Blue Devil Invitational held at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain. Sanderson and his teammates finished in second place in the four-team meet, behind Holy Cross. Holy Cross also won the women's race on Friday. The meet was moved up one day due to the impending storm on Saturday.

Cross Country Blue Devil Invitational Moved to Friday

The CCSU Blue Devil Invitational for Cross Country has been moved up to Friday September 5 due to inclement weather concerns. The Central Connecticut men will go off at 5:45 p.m. and the women's race begins at 6:30 p.m. The CCSU women's cross country team will instead be traveling to the Trinity Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The women's four kilometer race starts at 10:30 a.m.
