Women's Track Competes at Yale Springtime Invite

Lomotey led the Central Connecticut women's track and field
team at the Yale Springtime Invitational on Sunday. She won the
javelin with a throw of 127 feet. The 4x100 meter Blue Devil relay
team also highlighted the day with a third place finish. The team

Edge and sophomore Amy Sanjurjo recorded a time
of 49.47 seconds.
Sanjurjo also recorded top performances in the long jump and the
100 meter dash. The sophomore placed third in the long jump with a
distance of 17'9.5" and took sixth in the 100, recording a time of
12.97 seconds. Sophomore Shamone Allien finished just
in front of Sanjurjo in the 100, crossing the line in 12.95 seconds
to place fifth.
Dombroski also placed fifth in another event on Sunday. She
finished the 400 meter dash in 1:00.14. Sophomore Amanda
Kelley recorded three top field performances at Yale. The
Cumberland, RI native threw the discus 127'1" to place second and
recorded a distance of 41'4.25" to take third place in the shot
put. She also added a sixth place finish in the javelin with a
distance of 114'6".
Central Connecticut will next compete at the Northeast Conference
Championships in Emmitsburg, MD on May 1 and 2.
