Lechtenberg Named Eddie Robinson Award Finalist
Award is presented to the National FCS Coach of the Year
On the heels of winning a second consecutive NEC Championship, Central Connecticut State football coach Adam Lechtenberg has been named one of 15 finalists for the Eddie Robinson Award, presented to the FCS Coach of the Year. It marks the second year he is a finalist for the national honor.
Lechtenberg, the 2024 NEC Coach of the Year, led the Blue Devils to a second consecutive FCS Playoff berth. It is the first time in program history that the Blue Devils have qualified for the FCS Playoff in consecutive seasons. The Blue Devils won an eighth NEC Championship, fourth outright, with a 6-1 league record this season.
The Blue Devils, who won five straight games in the middle of the season, went 8-4 overall. It is the most wins in a season since the 2019 squad posted nine wins.
