Olson Named To FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team
Olson was the NEC's top quarterback in 2025
CLEVELAND – The Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) has named 57 student-athletes to the 28th Annual Academic All-Star Team. Central Connecticut State's Brady Olson was named to the squad and was one of only two NEC players selected to the team. named to the squad. The pair makes up half of the four student-athletes honored that represent Northeast Conference football schools.

Olson quarterbacked the Blue Devils to back-to-back NEC Championship and consecutive appearances in the FCS Playoffs for the first time in program history. He was named a First-Team All-NEC honors this season after throwing for a school record 3,132 yards. His 25 touchdown passes this fall is also a program-best. Olson completed a single-season school record 271 passes and had a single-game record 423 passing yards at Duquesne in 2025. All told, Olson had 456 completions for 5,317 yards and 42 touchdowns over two seasons at CCSU.
The Patriot League led the way with 10 student-athletes placed on the 2025 All-Star Team, along with the Coastal Athletic Association with nine student-athletes, the Big Sky Conference with eight student-athletes and the Missouri Valley Football Conference with seven recipients.
Current FCS ADA President, Kurt McGuffin, director of athletics at University of Tennessee Martin, stated, "This year's honorees exemplify what it means to be complete student-athletes, excelling both in the classroom and in competition. Football players from all Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) institutions are eligible for the award. Each of the nominees were required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate or graduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials. They must have reached their second year of athletics and academic standing at the nominated institution and have completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution. They also must have participated in 50 percent of the games played at their designated position.
