    Ry Sanderson Named 2010 NEC Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Ry Sanderson was named the 2010 Northeast Conference Scholar-Athlete for Cross Country. The Bantam, CT, native turned in a dominating performance at the 2010 NEC Cross Country Championships, winning the event in a course record time of 24:50 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT . The three-time All-NEC honoree was named the event's Outstanding Performer and helped lead the Blue Devils to their second consecutive team title. Sanderson is also a member of the NEC Academic Honor Roll.

The Blue Devils were led by a trio of runners finishing in the top-15. Sophomore Craig Hunt led the way with a second place finish over the 8Kcourse at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, NY.

    Men's and Women's Cross Country Competes at NCAA New England Regional The Central Connecticut Men's cross country team finished 16th at the NCAA New England Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devil women's team finished 27th at the same meet. The top Blue Devil man was sophomore Craig Hunt who finished 32nd and the women were led by a 116th finish from senior Katherine Bossardet.

    Sanderson Leads Blue Devils to Second Consecutive NEC Cross Country Title The Central Connecticut men's cross country team won its second consecutive Northeast Conference Championship behind the effort of senior Ry Sanderson, Junior Sam Alexander and sophomore Craig Hunt. Sanderson won the race in 24:50 setting a new record for the 8K course at Stanley Park. The Blue Devils posted a team score of 30 to beat St. Francis University by 26 points.

    Cross Country Set to Host Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday Central Connecticut State University will host the 2010 Northeast Conference men's and women's cross country championships on Saturday, Oct. 30, beginning at 11 a.m. at Stanley Quarter Park. The men's team is the defending champions, after winning their first-ever NEC title last fall under coach Eric Blake. Blake has since taken over the women's program, and both teams will be competing for the NEC title on Saturday in New Britain.

Sophomore Craig Hunt broke the Stanley Park men's 5K course record with his 14:55 performance. Junior Sam Alexander's time of 15:06 was also under the previous course record.

His performance led the Blue Devils to a third place finish out of 47 teams at the meet.

Central was led by Junior Sam Alexander and Senior Ry Sanderson who took second and third place. Sophomore's Craig Hunt and John Krell also contributed top ten finishes for the Blue Devils.

Sophomore Craig Hunt captured the win to lead the Blue Devils. The meet was held at Riverfront Park in Hartford as part of the Riverfront Cross Country Festival.

    Blake Sets Course Record and Wins 2010 Mount Ascutney Mountain Challenge Head men's and women's cross country and track head coach Eric Blake continued his summer of success on Sunday, winning the 2010 Mount Ascutney Mountain Challenge in Windsor, VT. Blake set a course record in the race with a time of 28:16 for the 3.7 mile course. The paved course ascends 2300 feet from start to finish and is entirely uphill. Blake's time was almost two minutes ahead of the second place finisher.
