Men's Basketball Subdued by Northeastern on Sunday
The Central Connecticut State men's basketball team was unable to overcome a first half deficit at Northeastern, falling 73-56 on Sunday at Cabot Gymnasium in Boston, MA. The Blue Devils endured a four-minute scoreless stretch in the opening half and the Huskies would capture the lead for good and did not allow the margin to go below double-figures in the second half..
Jay Rodgers and Darin Smith, Jr. led the Blue Devils with 12 points apiece. CCSU shot 21-of-63 (.333) overall and 4-of-17 (.235) from three-point range. CCSU was 10-of-17 (.588) from the foul line.
William Kermoury led a trio of Huskies in doube-digits with 18 points, while Ty Francis had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

KEY MOMENTS
- Melo Sanchez opened the scoring with a three-pointer, but Northeastern came back with eight unanswered points. After a layup by James Jones made it 8-5, the Huskies scored seven straight to extend its spurt to 13-2 run over a seven-minute span. The Huskies stretched the lead to double-digits before Max Frazier made a layup to make it 15-7 with 11:06 in the half.
- The Blue Devils held the Huskies without a field goal for over four minutes and got within 20-14 after a alleyoop from Jay Rodgers to Max Frazier. Northeastern would recover to extend the lead back to 35-21 at the intermission.
- Central would go over three minutes without scoring, while the Huskies ran off eight straight points to push its lead out to 49-28 with 14:19 to play. Northeastern would outscore CCSU, 12-0, before an Ashton Reynolds layup made it 53-30 with 13:39 to play.
- The Huskies would extend their lead to as many as 60-33, before the Blue Devils would hold NU to one field goal in the final six minutes and outscored them 10-3 over the final 3:32 for the final margin.
