Roddy Jones Named NEC Rookie of the Week on Monday
Roddy Jones of the Central Connecticut men's basketball team was named NEC Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday. Jones played a crucial role in helping the Blue Devils to a win at Binghamton last weekend.
Jones had nine points, shooting 3-of-3 on three-pointers, and a steal in 11 minutes in the first half at Binghamton. He played a career-high 21 minutes in the win over the Bearcats and his three-pointer put CCSU ahead for good at 33-31. Jones has played in four games and is averaging 7.5 points per game, while shooting 47.4 percent (9-for-19) on three-pointers.
Darin Smith, Jr. and Jay Rodgers were both named to the NEC list of Prime Performers on Monday, as well.
The Blue Devils close out the non-conference slate against Fairfield on Thursday.
