Men's Basketball Announces Addition of Matt Goodwin
Central Connecticut State University head men's basketball coach Patrick Sellers has announced the addition of Matt Goodwin for the 2026-27 season. Goodwin joins Victor Payne and Jhace Johnson who committed to Central earlier in the spring.
Goodwin is a 6-foot-2 guard who is a native of Manchester, England. He has spent two seasons with the London Lions, while previously having stints with the Manchester Magic and the Manchester Giants. He also gained international experience while representing Great Britain at the U18 and U20 levels. While playing for the Manchester Magic Academy U19 team prior to his time with the Lions, Goodwin averaged nearly 16.7 points per game. He played in 17 games for the Lions in 2025-26 helping the team claim three of the four domestic trophies available, most recently the Super League Basketball Championship.
"We can't wait to welcome Matt to the Central Connecticut program," said Sellers "Matt is a good athlete who will add basketball maturity, toughness and an elite understanding to our program. We look forward to having him in the Blue Devils family."
