Reynolds Named Influxer/NEC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Ashton Reynolds of the Central Connecticut men's basketball team was named Influxer/NEC Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday. Reynolds earned the honor for third time this season.
In two games last week, Reynolds posted 7.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. He shot .444 (4-of-9) from field and was 4-for-4 on free throws. Reynolds was consistent, putting up seven points and three rebounds in each game. He added two blocks in the win at Wagner and scored five points in first half to help build a six-point lead. Against LIU, he had five points and two rebounds in the second half.
Max Frazier was named a Prime Performer after posting 15.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game. He shot 12-of-18 (.667) from the field and 7-of-8 (.875) at the foul line. Frazier scored a team-high 17 points in 27 minutes in a win at Wagner and grabbed four rebounds. He scored 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting in the second half. On Saturday, he had 14 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals against LIU. He totalled seven points, five rebounds and two blocks in the first half of a one-point game at halftime.
The Blue Devils are home for two games this week, beginning with a matchup against Chicago State on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
