Golda Named NEC Field Athlete Of The Week
Broke his own record in the shot put
Central Connecticut State sophomore Greyson Golda was named the NEC Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, after a record setting performance at the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Invite last week. He was joined as an NEC Prime Performer by Lucas Figueiredo, Mark Rodriguez and James Sullivan.
Golda set the school shot put record on Friday with a throw of 17.25, surpassing his 17.24 mark set in January. That effort was enough to win the event. He also placed third in the weight throw, with an 18.67m throw.
Figueiredo finished second in the 400m at the Scarlet Knight meet, running 48.60 and now holds the top three times in that event in the league.
Rodriguez ran a personal-best in the 500m at IC4A/ECAC Championships, placing fourth at 14:35.01. It was the second fastest time in the NEC this season.
Sullivan clocked a personal-best in the 300m at the IC4A/ECAC Championship, running 8:17.67. It is the second-fastest in the league in 2025-26.
The Blue Devils travel to Staten Island this weekend to defend their NEC Championship. The 2026 Championship is at Ocean Breeze and will be held on Sunday and Monday.
