Figueiredo, Golda Wins Highlight Men's Effort At UConn Dog Fight
CCSU had seven top three finishes
The Central Connecticut State men's track and field team was in action at the UConn Dog Fight Challenge on Saturday.
The Blue Devils effort was highlighted by seven top three finishes and event wins from Lucas Figueiredo and Greyson Golda.

Figueiredo ran 46.87 in winning the 400m, capturing the event by 0.5 seconds

Joe Lauria captured silver in the 500m, running 14:47.92

Aidan Budge claimed third in the 1500m, running a time of 3:48.96, while Ryan Dunning posted a 4:00.28 to finish 19th

The 4x400 A relay took home a bronze, with Maxwell Czarnecki, Jayden Brown, Julieen Lopez and Jarell Gibbs combining to run 3:22.31

The men claimed 3-4-5 in the steeplechase, led by Emmett LaRosa in a time of 9:58,47, with Aaron Allen at 10:04.88 and Luke Hedges crossing at 10:27.80

Matthew Kraszewski picked up points in the 500m, with a fifth place showing in 15:35.37, while Evan Belles (15:39.15), Nick Fusco (15:45.11), Caleb Cerra (16:02.86) and Logan Crowley (16:04.68) captured spots 7-10

Greyson Golda took the top spot in the shot put with his throw of 17.08m, 0.4m better than the runner-up

Golda was also a medalist, finishing second, in the hammer, with a throw of 57.68m

Alexander Figueiredo cleared 1.90m in the high jump, good for fifth place, and was fifth in the long jump with a 6.71m top effort

Tristan Smith finished fifth in the shot put, with a throw of 15.47m

Golda placed 11th with a 46.41m effort in the discus, while Zane Baton threw 43.41m on his first effort to place 18th

Angelo Pisacreta threw the hammer 48.41m to place 19th

Zachary Bonini was also 19th, throwing 46.64m in the javelin event
The Blue Devils will be back in action next weekend at the Silfen Invitational at Conn College on Friday and at UMass on Saturday.
