Golda Qualifies For NCAA East Regional In Shotput
Blue Devils have had a qualifier in three straight seasons
Central Connecticut State sophomore Greyson Golda has been selected to participate in the NCAA Track & Field East Regional in the shot put. He is the third Blue Devil in as many seasons to qualify for the regional.
The men's shot put will be contested on Wednesday, May 27th, beginning at 6:30 pm. The University of Kentucky is the host of the east region meet. The top 12 finishers will advance to the NCAA Championship, June 10-13th at Hayward Field in Eugene, OR.

Golda's qualifying throw came in the NEC Championship, a school-record effort of 18.10m. That gold medal was part of the sophomore winning the NEC Most Valuable Performer and Outstanding Field Performer – Throws titles. Golda also won the discus, with a 50.15m effort and won silver in the hammer throw. Golda is the school record holder outdoors in the discus and shot put, as well as the indoor shot put and weight throw
The Blue Devils have had five NCAA Outdoor Regional qualifiers since 2022. Last season, Colin Winkler advanced to the NCAA Championship and finished ninth in the javelin and became just the 19th NEC athlete, since the league's inception in 1989, to finish in the top 10 in the outdoor championship.
