Women's Basketball Drops Road Game At Pitt
Lewis tallied a dozen points
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team fell in the dropped the middle game of a three-game road trip, falling 68-41 to ACC member Pittsburgh Monday night.
The Blue Devils finished the game even on the glass, 38-38, with a 16-9 advantage on the offensive glass.
Kiyah Lewis scored a team-high 12 points, while Lucia Noin and Christa Ramos both contributed seven points.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Panthers won the opening tip and scored 19 seconds into the game, getting out to a 4-0 lead, before Kiyah Lewis knocked down a three ball 73 seconds into the game. Pitt scored the next five points before a Lewis free throw at the 5:57 mark of the first quarter. Neither team scored for more than 3:00 until back-to-back baskets from Theresa Hagans for Pitt at the 2:50 mark and Lucia Noin at 2:34 rounded out the first period scoring, with the Panthers on top, 11-6
- Pitt scored the first six points of the second quarter, over 2:33 of action and forced a Blue Devil timeout, opening a 17-6 advantage and would push the lead to 23-6 midway through the quarter. CCSU mounted a 5-9 run with a layup from Mia Toure and a Trinity Barnes three pointer to close within 12 points, 23-11 with 2:43 to play in the half.
- Pitt outscored the Blue Devils 9-1 over the next 2:00 before Noin drained a three-pointer with 15 seconds to play in the half. Jah'nae Stevens ended the period with a blocked shot to send the Blue Devils to the locker room down 32-15.
- The Panthers pushed their advantage to 29 points, 48-19 with 5:26 to play in the third quarter, forcing a CCSU timeout. Two possessions later Lewis knocked down a three-pointer, then blocked a shot at the other end, leading to a Kayla Henry driving layup. That five-point spurt helped the Blue Devils finish the period on a 10-2 run to enter the final period down 51-29.
