Gaither Sets Indoor Pole Vault Record At TCNJ Lions Invite

The Central Connecticut women's track and field team were in action on Friday at the TCNJ Lions Invitational. The competition was held at the 186th Street Armory. 

Tatiana Gaither set a school record in the pole vault at the meet. She cleared 3.05 meters on her second attempt at the height to surpass the 2012 mark of Jess Davis (2.99m). The Blue Devils had six top three finishes on Friday.

• Mya Morabito won the mile, running 5:05.01, with Maegan Desmarais placing fourth with a run of 5:09.07 

• The duo came back to place 1st and 3rd in the 800m, with Morabito going 2:20.88 (73rd best in NCAA Division I this season) and Desmarais running the 89th fastest Division I time at 2:22.37 

• Ciara Adu-addo earned the second spot in the long jump, with a 5.70m effort on her fourth attempt 

• Nuchwara Inthasit took the third spot in the 60m dash, running 7.88 in the finals, after running a 7.84 PR in prelims 

• Inthasit ran 1:03.51 on the opening leg of the 4x400 relay and was followed by Kayla Logan(1:00.81), Sultana Ali (1:00.98) and Kyrah Smith (1:02.54) as the Blue Devils finished second at 4:07.92 

• Smith (1:01.68) and Ali (1:02.23) were fourth and sixth respectively in the 400m 

• Lillian Tabellione placed fourth in the 3000m, with a time of 10:24.53 and Rebecca Carusone was seventh with a time of 10:45.90 

• Rachel Bartolucci clocked an 800m time of 2:27.81 to earn fifth place, while Oliwia Marecik was seventh at 2:31.75 

• Imani Cain threw 12.02m in the weight throw, good for sixth place 

• Mimi Agwu ran a PR in the prelims of the 60m hurdles, stopping the clock at 10.00 

• Adu-addo took seventh in the 60m dash going 8.07 in the finals 

• Kayla Logan posted a PR in the 300m, running 41.87, good for eighth place 

• Alexandra Edwards (1:07.49), Bartolucci (1:04.64), Payton Mozelak and Marecik (1:10.24) combined for an eighth-place finish int he 4x400 relay at 4:32.49 

• Gaither's school-record pole vault effort tied for 10th on Friday 

• Madeline Doran cleared 1.45m in the high jump, earning 10th place
