Inthasit, Marin Earn NEC Track Weekly Honors
Marin has won consecutive Field Athlete of the Week honors
Central Connecticut State senior Nuchwara Inthasit was named the NEC Track Athlete of the Week, while sophomore Maya Marin was named the Field Athlete of the Week after their showings at the UConn Dog Fight on Saturday. The duo was joined on the NEC Prime Performer list by Maegan Desmarais and Alissa Hurd.
Inthasit posted a pair of top three times in the conference at the Dog Fight meet. She clocked an 11.94 100m dash time for a new personal record and conference-best time this spring to finish seventh at the meet. She then stopped the clock at 25.23 finish in the 200m race, placing 16th in the meet and ranks third on the NEC performance list.
Marin is the winner of back-to-back NEC Field Athlete of the Week awards. She registered a new personal record and NEC-best discus toss by going for 45.08m to finish fourth at the meet and rank 183rd in the nation. She also placed sixth at the UConn-hosted meet in the javelin with a 38.78m throw.
Desmarais ran a personal-best 4:25.31 in the 1500m, finishing third in the meet and is third on the NEC performance list this spring.
Hurd had a personal-best in the 100m hurdles, running 14.91 to rank sixth in the NEC, while posting the second-best high jump effort in the league by clearing 1.60.
The Blue Devils will be in action this weekend at the Conn College Silfen Invitational on Friday and the UMass Commonwealth Invitational on Saturday.
