Perry Named NEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Track & Field standout graduated in May with perfect 4.00 GPA
Central Connecticut State track and field student-athlete Marina Perry was named an NEC Team Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is one of a record-setting 13 NEC student-athletes, nine women, that graduated with 4.00 cumulative grade-point averages.
Perry, a native of Rocky Hill, CT, earned a BS in Exercise Science in May, posting the perfect GPA.
A graduate of Rocky Hill High School, Perry is the fifth Blue Devil to take home the prestigious NEC academic honor and the third female. Nicole Dean (volleyball) was the first Blue Devil honoree in 2016-17 and Matt Jenner (football) was the most recent in 2023-24. CCSU had two honorees in the 2021-22 class with Natalie Noval (volleyball) and Mason Schloop (football) being recognized.
A four-year member of the track and field program, Perry helped lead the Blue Devils to four NEC Championships; three indoor and the 2026 outdoor. She was named the Most Outstanding Performer – Throws in leading the Blue Devils to the 2024 indoor title, earning gold in the shot put at the championship.
