Hurd Wins High Jump to Lead Women's Track & Field on Saturday
The Central Connecticut State women's track and field team competed at the UMASS Commonwealth Invitational on Saturday. Alyssa Hurd won the high jump, while Nuchwara Inthasit earned silver in the 200m and Maya Marin won bronze in the discus.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
- Nuchwara Inthasit claimed the silver medal in the 200m dash, running a collegiate personal-best 24.85 and missing the top spot by just .02 seconds, while Kyrah Smith ran 25.84 to place 16th
- Mya Morabito ran 2:17.91 in the 800m, finishing fifth, with Rachel Bartolucci ninth in the race at 2:18.34
- Isabella Jensen, the lone Blue Devil in the 3000m steeplechase, ran 11:51.12, to place seventh
- Alissa Hurd finished 11th in the 100m hurdles, running 15.06m
- Alexandra Edwards finished 14th in the 400m hurdles, stopping the clock at 1:09.66 to match a personal-best, with Mimi Agwu finishing 17th at 1:12.11 to set a personal-best.
- Kayla Logan led off the 4x400m Relay with a split of 57.95 and was followed by Jessica Farrell (1:01.40), Inthasit (1:02.19) and Morabito closed the relay with a 1:00.53 to claim fifth place
FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
- Hurd topped the high jump, winning gold with a 1.66m clearance, winning the event based on clearing that height without a miss
- Maya Marin claimed bronze in the discus, throwing 43.63m on her third throw of the event, while Payton Lowe's first round throw of 38.03m was good for 13th place
- Ciara Adu-addo captured fourth place in the long jump with a 5.53m leap on her fifth attempt
- Marina Perry was the top Blue Devil in the hammer throw, with a throw of 43.15m in the third round, finishing 11th, while Elianna Wallace placed 20th at 39.72m
- Hailey Sousa cleared 3.06m in the pole vault to place 12th and Tatiana Gaither cleared 2.91m to tie for 15th.

The Blue Devils will be back in action next weekend at the UConn Northeast Challenge, Friday and Saturday, April 17-18th.
