Redahan Wins NCAA Batting Average Crown
CCSU baseball standout Aidan Redahan was crowned the 2025 NCAA batting leader following the season. The senior infielder hit a nation-leading .455 to win the title.
Redahan led the NCAA in batting average along with 1.90 hits per game. The Northeast Conference Player of the Year, he also earned NCAA Regional (Auburn) All-Tournament Team and All-Northeast Conference First Team honors. In 48 games, Redahan slashed .455/.695/.511 with 91 hits on the season, including 28 for extra bases. He powered the CCSU offense with 62 runs scored and 69 driven in. He was 10-for-11 on stolen base attempts and had 32 multi-hit games, while driving in multiple runs in 20 games. Redahan ended the season with an 11-game hitting streak and reached base safelyy in the first 28 games of the season. On the opening weekend he hit a grand slam and drove in five runs at Central Arkansas (3/2). In NEC play, he went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs against Delaware State (4/4) and then went 4-for-4 with five RBIs, three runs scored and hit two homeruns at Le Moyne (5/16).
Redahan is the first Blue Devil to win an NCAA statistical champion honor since Justin Cerbone in 2002 (ERA, 1.35). The second-best batting average was Cardell Thibodeaux of Southern, who hit .439. Redahan helped Central hit .329 as a team, which ranked fourth nationally, and score a league-best 8.7 runs per game. CCSU won its ninth NEC title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
