Baseball Falls to LIU on Sunday Following Rain Delay
The Central Connecticut State baseball fell to LIU, 12-3, on Sunday in New Britain, CT. The game was delayed for over an hour by rain in the seventh inning before play resumed to conclude the game.
Louis Jordan hit his second home run in as many games for CCSU, while Matt Graziose added a solo homerun.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Sharks scored in each of the opening three innings. A RBI groundout in the first inning made it 1-0, before a three-run second inning was highlighted by a two-run homerun by Matt McGurk to make it 4-0.
- After LIU scored a run in the top of the third inning, CCSU would plate a pair in the bottom of the frame. Antonio Ducatelli led off with a single before he came home on a two-run homerun to straightaway center by Jordan to make it 5-2.
- Graziose would lead off the fourth inning with a solo homerun to make it 5-3.
- The rain would force a one-hour delay in the top of the seventh inning, but following the resumption of play the Sharks would score three runs in the frame before tacking on four more in the top of the ninth to finish the scoring.
NOTES
- Graziose was 2-for-3 and hit his team-leading third homerun. He also had a double.
- Jordan was 3-for-10 in the series with two home runs and seven RBIs.
- Ducatelli, Frankie Ferrentino, Owen Arias and Ryan Scialabba each had a single.
- Jacob Hines started for CCSU and had five strikeouts in 5.0 innings.
