Jordan Homers Twice but Baseball Falls in the Ninth at UAlbany
Louis Jordan hit two homeruns and leads CCSU with five on the year.
The Central Connecticut State baseball team lost in the bottom of the ninth, 7-6, at UAlbany on Tuesday in Albany, NY. The Blue Devils took the lead in the fifth inning, before the Great Danes rallied to tie it in the seventh before winning on a walk-off in the ninth inning.
Louis Jordan hit two home runs and drove in three runs, while Nick Fox and Gianno Merlonghi each had two hits.

- Antonio Ducatelli singled to open the game and scored on a homerun by Louis Jordan, making it 2-0.
- UAlbany scored four runs in its first at bat. Michael Maggio singled and stole second before scoring on a single by Levi McAllister. The Great Danes loaded the bases before scoring two more runs on a RBI-groundout by Brian Guerrero. The hosts would go ahead, 4-2, after a balk allowed a run to come home.
- Jordan would hit his second home run of the game with one out in the third inning to make it a one-run game.
- In the bottom of the fourth, UAlbany got a one-out solo homerun by Victor Mazzara to make it 5-3.
- Central forged ahead with three runs in the top of the fifth. Gabe Tanous singled with one out, followed by two walks to load the bases. Nick Fox would drive in two runs with a single through the middle to tie the game. Gianno Merlonghi singled with two outs to drive in the go-ahead run and make it 6-5.
- With two outs in the seventh, Jasxon Mueller doubled for UAlbany and moved to third on a wild pitch. Brian Guerrero singled to drive in the tying run.
- CCSU pushed a runner to third base with two outs in the eighth inning, but UAlbany got away unscathed. In the ninth, the Great Danes got back-to-back singles and drew a walk to load the bases. The winning run came on an infield groundball that was knocked down, but the throw home was off target and UAlbany won, 7-6

- Jordan hit his team-leading fifth homerun of the season. He scored three runs as well.
- Fox was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
- Merlonghi went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
- Bryce DiPiero allowed just one run in 3.1 innings of relief with two strikeouts.
- Jordan Ake and Richie Kerstetter tossed 2.0 and 1.1 innings of shutout relief.
