Men's Soccer Falls at UAlbany on Late Goal in Season-Opener
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team surrendered a late goal and fell, 1-0, at UAlbany in its 2025 opener on Thursday in Albany, NY. The Great Danes managed to unlock the CCSU defense in the 77th minute for the game's only goal.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Great Danes would put pressure on the Blue Devils defense from the start, but Cristian Torres would make four stops in the opening 17 minutes to keep the game deadlocked.
- CCSU would get its first shot of the period in the 23rd minute, but Herman Toftevag had his attempt sail wide left. Ten minutes later, Santiago Marin would fire a shot from just past midfield that missed just high as the teams would go into halftime even at 0-0.
- Central was held without a shot midway through the second half, while Torres had two saves to keep the game tied.
- UAlbany would net the game's only goal at the 76:22 mark when Andre Navas sent a corner kick into the area where William Bruce was able to head in a shot to make it 1-0 for the game-winner.
