Men's Soccer Picks Up Draw at Stonehill on Thursday
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw at Stonehill on Thursday afternoon in NEC action in Eason, MA. Both goals came in the second half within 15 minutes of each other as CCSU earned its first result in league play.

KEY MOMENTS
- Both teams had scoring opportunities stopped in the opening 10 minutes. In the 31st minute after Brio Leavitt made a diving stop to set up a corner kick for the Skyhawks, the ensuing kick into the front of the net was cleared off the line by the CCSU to keep it scoreless.
- Stonehill opened the scoring early in the second half after controlling possession in their attacking third. The ball came to Owen Burke who held off a defender and ripped a shot from almost 30 yards out that found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
- CCSU would get the equalizer in the 63rd minute. After earning a throw-in deep in their attacking third, the ball would pop loose to Anthony Cantazaro on the right side of the penalty box. He took a shot from a tight-angle that tied the contest 1-1.
- Central would press late for the go-ahead score. In the 83rd minute Alvaro Moros had a close shot turned away, while less than a minute later the Blue Devils earned a corner kick. Youssef Shafei got a header in front, but it was cleared away by the Skyhawks defense.

- Central had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks, while Stonehill had a narrow, 10-7, edge in shots on goal.
