Men's Soccer Wins in Closing Seconds at Chicago State
Blue Devils score twice in the final 10 minutes, including with two seconds to play, to win first of the season.
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team rallied with a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to win, 2-1, in an NEC contest at Chicago State on Thursday night. The game-winning goal came from Nick Washington with only two seconds to play.

KEY MOMENTS
- The teams played a scoreless opening 45 minutes, although Chicago State did force Brio Levitt to make four saves to keep game deadlocked.
- Chicago State would break the deadlock with 13:00 left in the contest. Jayden Quezada picked up the ball near midfield and charged ahead before laying off a pass for Arafath Ouro-Gnao. Ouro-Gnao would collect the ball on the right wing and ripped a shot to the upper left corner to make it 1-0.
- The Blue Devils would respond to tie the game with just under 10 minutes to play. Youssef Shafei charged onto a loose ball in the box and settled it for a shot to score his first goal of the year and make it 1-1.
- CCSU continued to press for another goal, with a minute remaining Anthony Catanzaro would send a low shot just wide of the far post. In the closing seconds, Nana Nnuro-Frimpong was fouled and earned a free-kick in the attacking half of the field. On a quick restart, Nnuro-Frimpong chipped a ball into the area that Joey Tata headed onto Washington who tapped it in just before the final whistle.

- Shafei had a team high three shots on goal for CCSU.
- Levitt made six stops for the Blue Devils in goal.
