Men's Soccer Held Off at UConn, 1-0
An early goal proved to be the difference in the Central Connecticut men's soccer team's, 1-0, setback at UConn on Thursday night in Storrs, CT. The game's only goal came in the seventh minute and the Blue Devils' late chance at a tying goal was stopped.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Huskies took the attacking advantage early and converted in the seventh minute. The Blue Devils would fail to clear the ball from their defensive zone and Charlie Holmes poked the ball to Austin Brummett who sent a low shot from the top of the 18-yard box that found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
- Central would settle in from there and pressed its attack. In the 18th minute Santiago Marin Gutierrez got the ball along the endline, chipping a shot that forced a UConn save.
- The Blue Devils' pressure to level the score would result in a late chance. UConn had a deep throw-in that CCSU managed to send back into the attacking third. The ball would slip to Anthony Cantanzaro inside the 18-yard box, but his low shot would be swallowed by Kyle Durham with just under three minutes remaining.

- Cristian Torres and Grady Wilson split time in net. Torres made two saves, while Wilson made three stops.
- UConn held a slim, 17-10, edge in shots and, 4-2, edge in corner kicks. Each side finished with five saves.
- Marin Gutierrez had a game-high five shots for CCSU, including three on target.
- The teams met for the second straight season. UConn is 3-0 all-time in the series.
