Vigil Earns NEC Men's Soccer All-Rookie Team Honors

Alejandro Vigil of the Central Connecticut State men's soccer team was named to the NEC Men's Soccer All-Rookie Team on Wednesday afternoon. The awards were announced on the eve of the league's postseason tournament slated to kick off on Nov. 13.

A redshirt-freshman midfielder from Miami, FL, Vigil played in 16 games and started 13 contests for the Blue Devils. Vigil recorded three shots on the season, including one in Central's win at Chicago State. Vigil was a fixture in the midfield for CCSU, logging a full 90 minutes in eight contests.

The NEC Tournament kicks off on THursday with third-seeded LIU playing at #2-seed Saint Francis U. and top-seeded FDU hosting fourth-seeded Le Moyne.
