Men's Soccer Tripped Up By LIU
Blue Devils Fall To Regionally-Ranked Sharks, 2-1
The CCSU men's soccer team gave regionally-ranked LIU all it could handle on Sunday afternoon in New Britain, but a goal with just over five minutes to play in the match was the difference, as the visiting Sharks edged the Blue Devils 2-1 in a hard-fought NEC contest. Central is now 0-11-2 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play. LIU moves to 5-2-6 overall and 2-1-2 in the NEC.

KEY MOMENTS
- The teams were scoreless until late in the first half when the Sharks broke the ice 4:10 before the halftime break, when Niklas Thanhofer scored his seventh goal of the season when he found the back of the net off a goalmouth scramble in front of Blue Devils' goalkeeper Brio Levitt.
- The match would remain 1-0 in favor of the visitors until the 62:00 mark when senior Joey Tata headed home his first goal of the season off a superb crossing pass from Youssef Shafei to knot things up at 1-1 off a play that began from a CCSU throw in.
- The match would stay at 1-1 for the next 22:45 of action, until the Sharks put home the game-winning score with 5:15 to play when Christian Blank tallied when he connected off a cross from a free kick from teammate Jack Stainrod following a Central foul just outside the box.
