Winkler Wins Javelin At UConn Northeast Challenge
Blue Devils back in action at two-day event on Saturday
The Central Connecticut men's track and field team opened a two-day stint at the UCONN Northeast Challenge in throws and jumps on Friday. The competition will conclude on Saturday in Storrs, CT, with events on the track, the pits and in the throws area.
- Colin Winkler won the javelin with a top throw of 69.06m, and recorded the top five throws of any competitor in the event
- Greyson Golda had a PB in discus, finishing sixth with a 48.77m effort
- Alex Herron finished ninth in the javelin, with a 51.27m top effort, Zachary Bonini was 13th at 45.50m and Kyle Martin was 15th at 43.68m
- Alexander Figueiredo finished 13th in the long jump with a jump of 6.63m
- Tristan Smith (40.00) had a PR and Qunicy Davis (39.21) a season-best in the discus
