Men's Track & Field Win Nine Events at Home Meet Friday
The Central Connecticut men's track and field team hosted the CCSU Blue Devil Invite on Friday in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils' seniors were recognized before the start of the meet in which the team earned nine individual wins.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
- Stylz Mitchell (10.80) and Jamar Alcena (11.06) finished first and third in the 100m dash.
- Noah Colangelo (21.81) won the 200m while Tristan Burke (22.22) and Kymoy Phillip (22.43) were third and fourth.
- Lucas Figuieredo won the 400m with a time of 47.47. Jayden Brown was fourth in 49.05.
- Kenny Agwu had a time of 15.69 in the 110 hurdles, earning six points.
- Maxwell Czarnecki (56.74) and Kenny Agwu (56.91) placed third and fourth in the 400m hurdles.
- CCSU had five of the top seven times in the 800m. Aidan Budge (1:51.00) won and was followed by Ryan McCauley (1:54.27). Ryan Scappaticci (1:56.78), Thomas Flanders IV (1:58.01), and Tristan Burke (2:00.29) all scored points.
- Chris Abbey (3:53.16) and Salvatore Masciarelli (3:55.74) finished 2-3 in the 1500m run.
- Brendan Mellitt won the 3000m run with a time of 8:38.13.
- Caleb Cerra won the 3000m steeplechase in 10:06.05. Calvin Young finished in 10:45.98.
- CCSU 'A' won the 4x400 relay in 3:26.41. The 4x100 relay had a time of 41.51.
THROWS HIGHLIGHTS
- Tristan Smith placed second in the shot put with a throw of 15.45m. Angelo Pisacreta also scored with a best mark of 13.64m.
- Nicholas Xavier placed second in the hammer with a mark of 54.19m. Pisacreta (50.00m) and Smith (46.85m) would place fourth and sixth, respectively.
- Zachary Bonini had a best throw of 49.93m in the javelin to earn 10 points. Kyle Martin earned six points with a throw of 44.99m.
- Xavier placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 43.90m.
JUMPS HIGHLIGHTS
- Bryan Elliott had the top mark in the triple jump at 13.16m.
- Keith Townsend led a group of five Blue Devils in the high jump. His height of 1.95m was just ahead of Thomas Hooks (1.90m) for the top two spots in the event.
- Jack Slavinsky competed in the pole vault and had a height of 3.25m.
- Elliott (6.23m) and Alexander Figueiredo (5.88m) scored in the long jump.
