Gasper Named NEC Rookie Of The Week
Lawton, Warn named NEC Prime Performers
For the second time this season, Central Connecticut State freshman Stella Gasper has been named the NEC Softball Rookie of the Week. Grace Lawton and Skyler Warn were both named NEC Prime Performers.
Gasper, a native of Harrisburg, PA, hit .667 in the Blue Devils three-game sweep of NEC foe FDU this weekend. She drove in three runs in a 2-3 effort in the middle game of the series. In the final game, she was 1-2 with an RBI. All told, she was on base seven times in the three-game sweep. Through 15 games this season, Gasper is hitting .333 with five doubles and 10 RBI.
Lawton was 7-15 at the plate on the week, including a 6-9 effort in the sweep of FDU. She was 2-3 with two homeruns in the middle game of the FDU series.
Warn was also 7-15 in the week, with three RBU and a homerun on 3-9 at the plate in the sweep of FDU.
The Blue Devils travel to SFU for a weekend NEC series, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 21st – 22nd.
