Softball Falls in Doubleheader at UAlbany
The Central Connecticut State softball team fell at UAlbany in a doubleheader on Wednesday. The Blue Devils dropped the first game, 4-0, and were outscored, 8-2, in the second game.
Grace Lawton hit a solo home run in game two to lead CCSU.

- UAlbany got a solo homerun from Dreanna Grahek to open the scoring in the bottom of the second inning.
- The Great Danes added to the lead with a Katie Parisi RBI-single in the third and a RBI-single by Gaelen Kelly in the fourth inning to make it 3-0.
- A solo homerun by Charlotte Lomb in the bottom of the sixth inning rounded out the scoring.

KEY MOMENTS
- UAlbany took the lead with a two-run homerun by Katie Parisi in the bottom of the first inning.
- Central would get a run back in the top of the second on a solo homerun by Grace Lawton to make it 2-1.
- The Great Danes extended their lead with a four-run third inning. Julia Pike led off with a homer, while Taylor Quinn had an RBI-single and Kasey Conn drove in two runs with a two-out single to make it 6-1.
- UAlbany added two runs on a homerun by Natasha Hernandez in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- In the seventh inning, Sophia LoPiccolo hit a two-out double to left-centerfield. She would score one batter later following a throwing error to make it 8-2.
NOTES
- Lawton hit her 10th home run of the season and she has driven in a team-high 29 runs.
- LoPiccolo and Kristina Bozek each had a double in the second game.
- UAlbany won the past eight matchups in the series.

- In a matchup of the second- and third-place teams in the NEC standings, the Blue Devils (8-1) travel to Wagner (7-2) this weekend, beginning with a doubleheader on Friday.
