Softball Sweeps Saturday Twinbill from New Haven
The Central Connecticut State softball team swept a Saturday doubleheader against New Haven in NEC action in New Britain, CT. CCSU won the first game, 2-0, before rallying to win game two, 11-3, in five innings. The Blue Devils have won seven straight in NEC play
Liz Hamilton fired a complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits with 11 strikeouts in game one. Grace Lawton would collect five hits, four doubles, in the two wins.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central gave Hamilton all the run support she would need, scoring a run in the second. Grace Lawton led off with a double and scored on a single by Stella Gasper to make it 1-0.
- After allowing a leadoff single in the second, Hamilton would retire nine straight until the Chargers led off the sixth with back-to-back singles. Hamilton would dispatch the next three batters to get out of the inning.
- Lawton added to CCSU's lead in the sixth inning. Her two-out double drove in Reagan Vunak to make it 2-0.

KEY MOMENTS
- New Haven opened the second inning with back-to-back singles before a sacrifice moved the runners to second and third. Lucia Ceccareli singled in the opening run, before Bella Chenet followed with a two-run single to make it 2-0.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Lawton led off with a double and an error allowed Gasper to reach. Joslyn Teal drove in the first run, but an error allowed her to reach safely. Skylar Warn followed with an RBI-single and Kristina Bozek would double home two runs to make it 4-3. Vunak closed the inning with an RBI-single to plate another run.
- CCSU loaded the bases with one out in the sixth inning. Sophia LoPiccolo singled through the middle to score two runs. An error, two batters later, allowed a run to score before three straight singles by Vunak, Ava Cino and Lawton each drove in a run and end the game on the run rule.
NOTES
- Hamilton did not allow a runner past second base in the first game and scattered just four singles.
- Lawton went 2-for-3 with two doubles in the first game before going 3-for-3 in game two.
- Bozek was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs in game two.
- Vunak had two hits and two RBIs in game two.
