Seven Swimmers Compete At CSCAA Open Water National Championships
Izzy Vega was the team's top finisher
The Central Connecticut State swimming team had seven members take part in the CSCAA Open Water National Championships on Saturday morning in Sarasota, FL.
Leading the Blue Devils' effort was Izzy Vega who swam the 5K course in 1:03:36.9. Central's second finisher was Kyla Behrle who stopped the clock at 1:04:16.0 to place 84th. Sophia Pincince was one second and one place behind Behrle, crossing at 1:04:17.0.
Mackenzie Talbot was 87th in the overall standings, swimming 1:04:28.3. The other three Blue Devils finished within 14 seconds of each other, with Hannah Kretkowski going 1:05:25.8, to finish 103rd. Maggie Rutledge (1:05:38.8) and Gabby Spaciano (1:0.39.5) placed 107th and 108th respectively.
The competition was the Blue Devils final meet of the 2025 portion of the season. The Blue Devils are back in action on January 16th when they host Sacred Heart for Senior Day at Suydam Natatorium.
