Swimming & Diving In Action At Army And UConn

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team was in action on Thursday with the divers competing at UConn in Storrs, CT, and the swimmers at the Thursday Night Throwdown at Army West Point.

400 YARD MEDLEY RELAY

• The relay of Addison Kenney, Megan Dunnigan, Katrine O'Leary and Lauryn Cowing opened the night with a time of 4:09.01 and turned in the sixth-fastest time.
• The CCSU 'B' relay of Loretta Santora, Mackenzie Talbot, Izzy Vega and Grace Young finished in 4:27.48.

2x400 YARD FREE RELAY

• Sophie Milhomens and Maggie Rutledge swam an 8:27.24, which was fifth-fastest in the field.
• Hannah Kretkowski and Sophia Pincince finished in 8:55.96.

50 YARD BACKSTROKE

• Kenney swam a 27.89 in the night's first individual event. Teammates Francesca Fusco (28.87), Young (29.19) and Talbot (31.55) also swam in the event.

50 YARD BREASTSTROKE

• Young (33.24), Katie Suchowiecki (33.47) and Veronica Okurowski (33.70) all finished within a half-second of each other.

150 YARD FLY

• Milhomens led a quartet of Blue Devils with a time of 1:36.51. Kyla Behrle (1:41.30), Jilena Plowucha (1:41.44) and Lauren Lord (1:47.12) also competed in the race.

150 YARD FREE

• Gabby Spaciano (1:26.65) and Rutledge (1:28.21) both earned top-10 finishes. Hannah Kretkowski (1:30.16) and Pincince (1:37.70) were also in the field..

50 YARD FREE

• Young led four CCSU swimmers with a time of 24.54. O'Leary (25.59), Suchowieki (26.48) and Amelia Cieslik (35.01) also swam in the event.

50 YARD FLY

• Lauryn Cowing (27.56) and Plowucha (28.11) led the Blue Devils entrants in the event. Santora (29.13) and Lauren Lord (30.47) rounded out the CCSU swimmers.

150 YARD BACK

• Fusco (1:35.67), Dunnigan (1:36.18) and Kenney (1:36.19) finished within a second of each other. Talbot (1:44.64) was also in the field.

150 YARD BREASTSTROKE

• Young (1:54.18) and Veronica Okurowski (1:54.31) represented CCSU in the field of 14 swimmers .

200 YARD IM – REVERSE IM

• Santora (2:23.00), Izzy Vega (2:24.51) and Behrle (2:26.15) were the Blue Devils' trio in the event.

6x100 YARD FREE RELAY

• The 'A' relay of Young, O'Leary, Dunnigan and Cowing placed fourth with a time of 5:30.53.
• Rutledge, Fusco, Milhomens and Okurowski put together a time of 6:10.91.

50 YARD BACK

• Kenney and Fusco finished back-to-back in 28.29 and 29.34, respectively.

50 YARD BREASTSTROKE

• Young and Suchowiecki finished in 32.74 and 33.53, respectively.

50 YARD FREE

• Young had a time of 25.42 and O'Leary finished in 26.73.

50 YARD FLY

• Cowing finished in 27.63 and Plowucha finished in 28.29. 

DIVING DUAL | RESULTS
Location: Wolff-Zackin Natatorium | Storrs, CT (Diving)

1-Meter Diving

• Jewelle Maziarz placed third, scoring 246.98 points, 11.92 shy of the top spot
• Jacquelyn Kenna tallied 185.55 points for eight place, while Kaitlyn Carroll was ninth with a score of 184.50
• Kristin Krause (157.73) and Adriana Waton (153.60) rounded out the CCSU effort

3-Meter Diving

• Maziarz took the top spot on the high board, soring 223.88 points, winning by 7.88 ponts
• Carroll was fifth, with 192.98, 7.1 points in front of Kenna
• Krause paced sevent, scoring 174.30, while Rachel Giroux (150.75) and Waton (147.53) took 10th and 11th in the field

• CCSU will host Stony Brook on Saturday, October 18.
