Men's Basketball Keeps Binghamton in Check on Sunday
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team recorded a 64-56 win over Binghamton on Sunday at Detrick Gymnasium. Jayden Brown led three Blue Devils in double-figures with a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds.
Jordan Jones added 15 points, five boards and four assists, while Davonte Sweatman scored 14 points in the second half. CCSU shot 25-of-60 (.417) overall and 7-of-20 (.350) from three-point range. The Blue Devils were 7-of-9 (.778) at the foul line.
Tymu Chenery led the Bearcats with 16 points. Binghamton shot 22-of-51 (.431) overall and 8-of-18 (.444) on three-pointers. The Bearcats were 4-of-5 (.800) at the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- CCSU never trailed in the game and despite not scoring until 2:53 into the game, Brown would score the first seven points of the game. Central held the Bearcats scoreless for the first 4:43, but Binghamton would cut the deficit to 7-5 before Brown and Darin Smith, Jr. accounted for five quick points.
- The Blue Devils would run off seven straight points to build their largest lead of the half with 3:13 to go. Jones would open the spurt with a layup before Brown hit a trifecta and Max Frazier would convert a layup to make it 23-14. CCSU surrendered a season-low points in the opening half and led 28-19 at the intermission.
- Binghamton cut the lead to 30-26 to open the second half, forcing a CCSU timeout. The Bearcats would get within a possession with 14:23 to play, but a bucket by Brown and two foul shots by Sweatman would push it back to 38-32.
- Central would hit a three-pointer on three straight possessions, including a pair from Sweatman, to take a 51-38 lead with 8:56 to play. CCSU would not allow its lead to fall below seven points the rest of the way.
