Men's Basketball Sets Record With 9th Non-Conference Win
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team won its ninth non-conference game to tie a NEC record and had seven score in double-figures in a 100-51 win over Johnson & Wales on Sunday in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils became the sixth NEC team, and first since St. Francis Brooklyn in 2013-14, to post nine true non-conference wins in a season.
Jordan Jones shot 7-of-7 overall and led CCSU with 18 points. Joe Ostrowsky and Darin Smith, Jr. each added 14 points, while Abdul Momoh had 13 and Jayden Brown and Devin Haid each had 11 points. Max Frazier finished with 10 points. Central shot 39-of-61 (.639) overall and 14-of-29 (.483) from three-point range. The Blue Devils were 8-of-11 (.727) at the foul line.
Roel Figueroa led the Wildcats with 13 points. Johnson & Wales shot 21-of-58 (.362) overall and 8-of-26 (.308) on three-pointers. JWU was 1-of-2 (.500) at the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central raced out of the gate, scoring the first 13 points of the game in the opening 4:49. A Jordan Jones jumper put CCSU up 13-0 before JWU would hit a three-pointer at the 14:41 mark to get on the scoreboard.
- CCSU scored the final 10 points of the opening half and a dunk by Haid just before the halftime horn made it 54-15 at the intermission.
- Midway through the second half, Central would take its largest lead of the day. A three-pointer by Smith was followed by back-to-back jumpers from Jayden Brown and Jordan Jones to make it 80-29.
- A layup by Max Frazier with under a minute to go and a JWU layup on the next possession rounded out the game's scoring.

9 – Central tied a conference mark with its 9th true non-conference win of the season. CCSU (9-4) is the first school since St. Francis Brooklyn went 9-6 in non-league play in 2013-14.

- Jones went 4-of-4 from beyond the arc and had four assists.
- Haid added 10 rebounds for his second double-double. He added five assists and six steals, both personal-highs.
- Ostrowsky tied season-bests with three trifectas and six assists.
- Frazier has made nine straight field goals dating back to the first half against Quinnipiac.
- CCSU set a season-best mark for shooting percentage in the first half (.677, 21-of-31)
- The Blue Devils are 5-0 at home on the season and have won 11 straight regular-season home games.
- CCSU won its 9th true non-conference game of the campaign, setting a program-record.
