Sanabria to Represent Puerto Rico at U21 Volleyball World Championships
Central Connecticut volleyball rising junior Victoria Sanabria will be with the Puerto Rico U21 team at the World Championship in Suabaya, Indonesia, from August 7-17. Sanabria also represented Puerto Rico in the Pan-American Cup earlier this summer.
The Pan-American Cup was played in San Jose, Costa Rica from July 20-28. Sanabria played in all four matches for Puerto Rico at the Pan-Am Cup, including a 3-2 win over Mexico in the opening match. Sanabria is an NEC Academic Honor Roll (3.2+ GPA) student and has averaged 1.72 kills/set and 0.56 blocks/set. She had a career-high 14 kills against LIU on Oct. 20, 2023.
Puerto Rico will face Serbia and Argentina in its opening matches at the World Championship on August 7. The competition features 24 countries split into four single round-robin pools of six. The top four teams in the final standings of each pool will advance to the eighth finals, while the remaining two will continue their participation in the playoffs for the distribution of the places from 17th to 24th.
