Volleyball Topples Stonehill in Three Sets on Tuesday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team downed Stonehill in straight sets on Tuesday night in NEC action at Detrick Gymnasium. The Blue Devils hit .360 as a team, while holding the Skyhawks to a .050 attack percentage.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils trailed, 9-6, in the opening set, but would chip away at the deficit and tie the score at 12-all on following an ace by Gabriella Burdier. A kill by Weronika Poczynek would start a string of five straight points. Following an ace by Annabelle Denommé, CCSU would take the lead for good and closed the frame with kills by Amanda Tokam and Poczynek.
- CCSU scored four straight to build a 4-1 lead in the second frame. The lead would grow to, 11-4, after a kill by Aubrey Stitcher that led to a Stonehill timeout. The Blue Devils would push the lead to double-digits after a block by Ginley and Poczynek made it, 19-9. Central closed the set on a 5-1 run and a kill by Olivia Keckler ended the frame.
- Stonehill tied the third set, 6-6, but back-to-back kills by Keckler and Tokam would make it 9-6 and the Skyhawks called timeout. Ginley served consecutive aces and a kill by Keckler closed a run of seven points that put Central in command. Stonehill scored four straight points to get within, 20-15, and force a CCSU timeout, but the Blue Devils closed with four straight points, including a Ginley ace to win the match.

6 – CCSU totaled 6.0 blocks as a team, including four by Breanna Ginley. Central has also won six straight sets against Stonehill.

- Poczynek had a team-high 10 kills, along with seven digs and three blocks.
- Tokam totaled nine kills, hitting .529, and had two blocks.
- Ginley hit .571, had four kills, four blocks and three aces.
- Anja Milosevic had 36 assists and seven digs.
- Denommé had a match-high 13 digs, along with three aces.
- Central Connecticut is 5-2 all-time in the series.
