Volleyball Sweeps New Haven on Senior Day on Saturday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team won in three sets over New Haven on Senior Day at Detrick Gymnasium on Saturday. CCSU recognized seniors Weronika Poczynek, Ivanka Sikiric and Amanda Tokam prior to the match and won to keep pace in the standings for the final berth in the NEC Tournament.
The Blue Devils travel to FDU for the regular season's final weekend, beginning with a 6pm match on Friday night.

KEY MOMENTS
- After NHVN scored the opening point, Anabelle Denommé served two aces as part of a four-point run that put Central in front. The Blue Devils would maintain the lead throughout the set, going ahead by as much as, 18-13, after a kill by Olivia Keckler. The Chargers closed to within, 24-23 but a kill by Poczynek closed out the opening frame.
- CCSU would lead wire-to-wire in the second set, after a kill by Anja Milosevic made it 3-1. New Haven would momentarily tie the set at 3-3, but a run of six straight points put Central ahead, 14-7 after another kill by Milosevic. Another six-point run pushed the lead to 21-8 before a kill by Keckler would finish the set.
- New Haven looked to extend the match and held an early, 4-1, lead in the third frame. After CCSU tied the set at 9-9, the Chargers would respond with four unanswered points. New Haven maintained the lead until a block by Poczynek and Breanna Ginley tied it at 21-21. NHVN had set point at 24-23, but after an error tied the score, Poczynek scored a pair of aces to close the match.

.314 – After posting a .314 attack percentage as a team, CCSU improved to 4-0 on the season when hitting better than .300 as a team.

- Poczynek had a match-high 17 kills and hit .424. She added two aces, two digs and two blocks.
- Keckler added nine kills and nine digs.
- Milosevic finished with 41 assists, eight digs, two blocks and two kills.
- Denommé had 12 digs and five aces.
- Ginley had eight kills and three blocks with two aces.
- Tokam finished with five kills and four blocks.
- The teams were meeting this weekend for the first time as members of the NEC.
