Volleyball Wraps Up Play at Stony Brook Invitational vs. Siena on Sunday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team closed out opening weekend play at the Stony Brook Tournament against Siena on Sunday. The Blue Devils fell to the Saints, 3-0, in the opening match of the day, while Anja Milosevic had a double-double with 27 assists and 13 digs.

KEY MOMENTS
- A kill by Sonja Lind would tie the opening set at 11-11 as neither side led by more than two points in the early-going until Siena responded with four unanswered points to force a CCSU timeout. A kill by Olivia Keckler would stem the tide, but Central would be unable to score on consecutive rallies as the Saints took the opening set, 25-16.
- Siena scored the opening six points in the second set and would build a 12-5 lead. A block by Keckler and Amanda Tokam opened a run of four straight points for the Blue Devils. Siena would respond with a three-point run enroute to building a 2-0 lead in the match.
- Siena built a 4-1 lead in the third frame and led 11-5 before CCSU mounted a charge to level the score. Back-to-back kills by Stitcher and a pair by Milosevic forced a timeout after making the score 11-9. Kills by Stitcher and Weronika Poczynek would get Central even at 13-13. Siena maintained its lead at 23-19 before Stitcher had a kill to spark a late charge. Molly Thomas served three straight points and a kill by Lind would make it 23-23. The Saints would regain momentum and scored the final two points to close the match.
